Robert W. Moore III, a Somers High School student and Troop 228 Eagle Scout built and designed an interpretive historical sign for the Somers Historical Society and installed it at Bailey Park.  He also developed a corresponding website containing more detailed historical information about the Somers Hamlet, which can be accessed by a QR code on the sign.

Conor McCooey, a Somers High School student and Troop 228 Eagle Scout sanded, repainted, and repaired the early 1900s antique fire hose cart at the Granite Springs Fire House, which was manufactured by the now-defunct Wirt & Knox Manufacturing Company of Philadelphia. Conor and his crew also improved the little patch the cart sits on; secured it so it won’t go missing; placed a plaque explaining its significance; and rebranded it with the Somers Volunteer Fire Department’s name in big gold letters.

Nick Cirillo, a Somers High School student and Troop 228 Eagle Scout rebuilt the courtyard (patio and garden space) outside classrooms at Somers Intermediate School last summer (2020) as part of his Eagle Scout community service project. In a year when space and outside activity are important, this courtyard gets a lot of use.

Nathan Bellio, a Somers HS student and Troop 228 Eagle Scout, built a hiking trail with several bridges at Rhinoceros Creek Reservation in Somers for the Somers Land Trust for his Eagle Project in November of 2020.

Nick Westhoff, a Somers High School student and Troop 228 Eagle Scout built a welcome sign for the Somers Highway department in January of 2020.

For his Eagle Scout project, Brunon Kaminski, a Somers High School Student and Troop 228 Eagle Scout, built six birdboxes behind the lower Reis park baseball field in Somers in order to preserve the wildlife and maintain the population of the New York state bird.

Michael Witkiewicz, a Somers High School senior and Troop 228 Eagle Scout built a hiking trail with bridges at Rhinoceros Creek Reservation in Somers for the Somers Land Trust for his Eagle Project.

Tommy Garrity, a Somers Troop 228 Eagle Scout and graduate of Somers High School built a Gaga Ball pit at Reis Park in Somers for the Community to enjoy!

Cole Zorabedian, a Somers High School graduate and Troop 228 Eagle Scout made large flower boxes for the inside of the middle school courtyard in Yorktown. He also created a solar heating device to keep water from freezing inside their chicken coup at the same location.
